Burn Relief

Melaleuca Alternifolia is one oil I have not used a lot and therefore have not really had any personal experiences with the awesomeness of it until recently. On Sunday evening, my husband grabbed a spatula to stir food on the stove but the metal-handed spatula had been placed too close to a hot burner and was extremely hot. He ended up with a painful burn about an inch and a half long. He iced it and then I applied Lavender to it a couple of times over the course of the evening. Before bed, he suggested we try Melaleuca because when he was growing up, his family had used it for burns. I figured it was well worth a try. I applied it for him before bed and by the next morning, it was amazing how much it had healed. The burn is now very small and hardly noticeable. I love it when we try an oil and it wows us with it's incredible properties! I don't know why, after so many of those moments, I am ever surprised!

Winter is coming...dry weather and chapped skin

Though winter is still hopefully a little ways off, the temps have been dropping around here and the air has gotten very dry on a number of occasions recently. A few days ago, I started to get so chapped and all around my lips my skin was peeling and painful. It was awful! Chapstick did virtually nothing and though I was trying to drink more water to stay hydrated as well, I found no relief. Due to the fact that Frankincense is such a fabulous oil for skin, I decided to try a drop around my lips to see if it might help. Seriously amazing result! I applied the Frankincense at night before bed and by the next morning, my dry and flaky chapped skin was almost completely healed. I applied the Frankincense a couple more times that day to kick the tail end of it and after 3 applications, there was no longer any sign of dry or painful skin!

Once again wowed and amazing and in love with these oils! How did we ever live without them?! God's handiwork is so incredible that he created the life blood of these plants for our use and our benefit - we truly serve an awesome creator!

You can be sure I will be reaching for my Frankincense this winter when the dry wind and weather wreak havoc on my skin!!
